About my New Yorker

It's a 1986 Chrysler 5th Avenue, running a '79 360.  The engine has hedman headers, a comp XE262 cam, some home porting of the heads, an edelbrock air gap, and an edelbrock 600 CFM carb.

Exhaust consists of 2.5" pipes to a flowmaster Y merge collector.  3" exits that to a Dynomax 17769 large body turbo muffler, through a custom 409 stainless pipe over the axle, and through a Dynomax race bullet as a resonator, before going through a 3" Gibson polished stainless turndown.

Behind the engine is a MP 166K lockup converter, and a 42RH overdrive from a '93 dakota that has a Trans-go TFOD shift kit.  Power goes through the 7290 equipped driveshaft to an 8.75" rear end out of a '68 Satellite.  A 489 case pumpkin with 3.55's and a sure grip transfer power to the 17x8 ford motorsport bullit rims and BF Goodrich KDWS' in 255/50R17 size.

The brakes have been improved to 11.75" units off of a '79 st. regis cop car up front, and wilwood discs in back.

The suspension has been built to police car specs, with all poly bushings, 1.125" front sway bar, 1" rear sway bar, 5 leaf HD rear springs, and KYB gas-a-just shocks.

Paint and body were handled by City Auto Body in Grand Haven, MI.  the car was originally two-tone grey with a light grey interior.  I kept the stock silver hood and roof, but switched the darker grey to '88 Twilight Blue Pearl.  The interior was swapped for a dark blue interior salvaged from about 4 different cars in local salvage yards.  I recovered all interior panels with new fabric.

Future mods include swapping late model magnum heads, and converting to MPFI.
