1969 plymouth road runner, real road runner original 383 4 speed car. I have the original 383, but now has an aluminum headed 426 hemi non crate motor. I had the hemi before I had the car and it was built for less money than a crate motor. Mopar performance siamese block, mopar aluminum heads, eagle crank, manely rods, comp cams mechanical camshaft, 850 mighty demon, indy intake, 2 1/4 hooker headers, all msd ignition, 3 inch flowmaster exhaust, dana 60 with moser axles and 3.54 gears, 18 spline hemi 4 speed transmission, manual brakes and manual steering. The motor was built with all new parts except for the intake for just under $10,500, better than a crate motor and a lot cheaper. All the paint and body work was done by Doug Dorn of Dorn Autocraft. I stripped the car to the bare metal at my house with an electric orbital sander. When it got to Dorn autocraft I had already rebuilt the front end and painted the bottom side of the car and the front suspension. I painted it all black. When the car was disassembled completly, Doug had me sandblast all the front suspension that was painted black at home so that it could be painted or plated the factory correct colors. I would get off work at 2:30 and go work on the car until 4:30. It took us 18 months to complete the car. I really enjoy taking it to local cruises and the car has won several best paint awards.
many Thanks to Doug Dorn of Dorn Autocraft
