About my Caprice

This is my 1979 Chevy Caprice Classic Coupe.  355 ci Chevrolet small block with about 430 hp.  The torque curve is over 400 ft/lbs from 2000 rpm on up to 6000.  World products S/R Torquer cylinder heads, Edelbrock Air-Gap Intake with a 750 cfm Carb.  My best run on a 1/8 mile track was 9.25 sec @ 76 mph.  Most factory Mustangs run 9.4 sec.  Oh yeah, the car weighs in at 3950 lbs with driver.  Considerably heavier than a Mustang.

I had one of these in High School.  I could get that thing to hook up right of the line and it could smoke IROC Z' for the first 1/8 mile just because they would sit and spin and I would launch.  It was stock for all intents and purposes but if  I sould get one again it  would be warmed up for sure.  Z
