My 1976 Datsun 280Z is my first toy that I've bought for my wife and I. It has been fully restored from the ground up both mechanically and asthetically. About 1/3 of the current car is new sheet metal due to the rust that is so common on these old imports. The engine is the L28 I6 found in the slightly newer 1981 280ZX rebuilt with a high lift cam (460 valve lift, 270 intake duration, 280 exhaust duration) and 3angle job on the head. This is fed by dual SU sidedraft carbs and flowed out through a MSA 6-1 header and MSA's 2.5" stainless exhuast. The current combination at only a 8.8:1 CR put down a conservative 162.0 RWHP and 162.3RWTQ spring of '07. I am currently in the process of building a new engine for the car, a 350SBC bored .030". It should be a fun project for my wife and I to complete this fall to get it on the road come spring!
