About my "S" Series

Welcome to another dimension in the Wonderful World of Stitch!   What you have uncovered here is perhaps one of the most unique stories (not really) on the internet!  This little Salon (as the Brits say) has journeyed across the expanse of cyber space in an effort to be one if not the only most downloaded saturn on the net!  Is it?  Probably not.

What started as a lark over on a Seatle based auto enthusiast web page known as CarDomain, has morphed into a hobby of sorts.  Taking autoculture photography forward by leaps and bounds (more like taking it backwards...) I have posted my Saturn I call Stitch on around 7 or 8 websites.  The initial posting indeed made Stitch (the car's nickname) a world wide sensation (actually, just seen in other countries once or twice)

So what is a Stitch?  Well there is the Stitch in Time, a Stitch saves nine...Or the Disney animated character, "Stitch".  It seemed that some of the more creative members of these websites had little nicknames for thier whips.  Nasty Machine, Hellacious Monster, *** Magnet (use your imagnation), Horny Lady, you name it there was some sort of moniker for various cars.  Well, try as I might Hellacious *** just didn't fit my cute little blue Saturn.
It used to be our only car for a family of three.  When My Daughter was born, we purchased a Micro-Mini-Van (Mazda 5) and the Saturn was relagated to my personal use.  Still, MainStreet Masher wasn't quite working for the plain simple 4 door sedan.
Then I remembered the marketing campaign for Disney's Lelo and Stitch.  It seemed some of the classic animated features were constantly being upstaged by a little blue alien.  Things started to gel at this point.  my little blue fourdoor Salon (as the Brits...oh never mind) started to show his little razor sharp teeth.

Now most of you who know of a racer boy and his super loud expensive toy would expect that I would suddenly throw a wing on the trunk and put a coffee can under the rear bumper.  Well thats not the case.  I put a set of after market wheel covers from Pep Boys on the wheels.  Then I found several LED battery powered stickum lamps from Walgreens.  They illuminate in both white and blue.  Perfect!  I put those strtegically throughout the cabin.  Then I put a vinyl graphic (color) of Stitch on the windshield.

Is any of this facinating to you?  Probably not, so I digress.

Whats this car all about? It rings of freedom really.  It isn't the fastes, or flashiest car on the block.  (actually I just bought a house, and you should see the rods, customs, tourers, and vintage machines that reside on my street!!!)
I have found a certain chemistry with this car I have not felt for some time.  Perhaps it is because we actually made the choice to purchase this car of the dealers lot brand new.  I cant really explain why it is I like Stitch so much.  maybe the car really does have it own personality.  Maybe its because the Saturn line never had it easy with the motoring press, and I root for the underdog.  (This of course was before the Aura and Sky, 2 models that have turned the corner for Saturn)

Anyway, look around the web for a Saturn named Stitch.
You might run into a few other really sharp looking cars.  It might actually be fun to chase a simple Salon.
