About my Corvette

I purchased my 1962 Corvette in 1982 when I was a young punk and have enjoyed driving it ever since then. It had a 340 horse matching #'s 327 engine, T10 close ratio 4 speed, and 4.11 posi rear end. I shelved the original motor in 1988 and installed a 383 stroker with an Isky mechanical roller cam and rev kit. I had a set of Thorley Tri-Y headers ceramic coated and replaced the stock exhaust system with custom welded 2.5 inch mandrel bent tubes and SpinTech mufflers. I also went to a McLeod twin disc clutch and aluminum flywheel. The ignition includes an MSD tach drive distributor, Blaster2 coil and MSD 6AL box. I wanted better handling, but also to keep my Corvette a real C1, so I elected to install Dick Guldstrand's solid axle 'vette  race mods to my suspension which included heavy duty springs, polyurethane bushings, larger anti-roll bars, Bilstein shocks and a 16 to 1 quick steering ratio. Phil Schmidt of PS Engineering made a set of custom offset 15x8" rims for me in the Torq-Thrust style that fit neatly under my stock fenders and allow for more agressive tires. The Wonderbar radio came out and a vintage radio delete plate replaced it. The battery got relocated to the trunk. This car's total weight is currently 2840 lbs. Next on the wish list is a roll bar--  so I can take it out to play at Willow Springs Raceway with my club friends !
