Who: Andy Halliburton
What: 1970 El Camino
Why you care: A drag car that takes a turn on a dime
Andy Halliburton chose to drop a 500 hp 383ci stroker between the frame rails of his ’70 Chevy El Camino. Backing up all that power is an overdrive, 700-R4 transmission. The car uses 2-inch drop springs, a Global West 4 link is in the rear and Wilwood 13-inch discs stop the car from all 4 corners. Yokohama tires stretch out on Foose Wheels, keeping the car planted as it competes in autocross. What’s more, this rust-free El Camino can power through a quarter mile in 12.5 seconds!
