About my Nomad

Who: Dooley Cameron

What: 1955 Chevy Nomad

Why you care: A father/son project car

Dooley Cameron and his son Tom are the kinda guys we like to see: keeping things garage-built and classy. Their ’55 Chevy Nomad is one of a kind, sporting a 720 hp Don Hardy LSX 454 fed by a 4-barrel carburetor. A Tremec six-speed is relied on for shifting duties. A Tri-Five chassis includes a rack and pinion setup and a 9-inch Ford rearend out back. The Nomad kisses the ground with Boze wheels and wrapped in Vredestein rubber; stopping the car from all four corners are a set of Baer brakes. This new father and son project sports original-style paint and interior, and hits the autocross on weekends.
