Who: Dan Howe
What: 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo SS
Why you care: This car was built in a barn
The License plate of Dan’s ’84 Monte reads: “Howe Bad,” which is exactly what it ought to say. Built in a barn, this Chevy packs an LS1 engine with a Comp Cam, Mahle pistons, ported heads and a FAST EZ-EFI setup. The transmission of choice is a 4L60E, which then sends the twist to a Moser 9-inch rearend with a street-friendly 3.50:1 gear set. The body rests on a Schwartz Performance G-machine Chassis, complete with Ridetech coilovers, and a rack and pinion setup. Wilwood, 6-piston calipers hangout up front and 4-piston calipers are in the rear, each gripping a 13-inch rotor. On each corner BFGoodrich g-force KDW tires are mounted to XXR Weldcraft wheels. Dan has owned the car for 8 years, and his son, Josh, even painted the car blue. This muscle was built in the family barn and looks fantastic!
